I can wholeheartedly recommend Chris Roy and Toro Blanco. As someone who had always lived an active life and having always considered myself pretty fit, it came as a shock to suffer a “health scare” in my early fifties. In my efforts to get back to full fitness I tried out a number of “personal trainers” via local gyms. It soon became clear to me that there are many people practicing in this field with minimal qualifications. Chris's set up is the polar opposite of my prior experiences. Chris has supported and encouraged me through a training programme which at all times is clearly informed by sport science and Chris's very clear expertise in this field. All of my exercising is heart rate monitored and the regular testing Chris uses both provides clear, empirical evidence of my fitness gains and also serves to inform regular adjustments of my training programme. Under Chris’s careful watch I have now reached levels of aerobic fitness well in excess of where I was at in my late twenties and early thirties. I am far stronger and lighter than ever and thoroughly enjoying my fitness journey, all as guided by Chris. Highly recommended.

Right from Chris introducing himself when you first step foot into his premises , you know this is a professional set up.Chris is interested in his clients. He wants the best for his clients and doesn't just look to fitness, it's a whole picture. I think his people skills are exceptional which enables him to make programs & sessions that people are able to work with and stick to so that there is development & progression. For me, very quickly.I also have confidence in Chris as he has the medical backup & support. So I feel safe that what we are doing is right.Of course it is great to be trained by a former top level, professional athlete. However Chris is very grounded & he is interested in guiding his clients to reach their goals however small and I suspect most discover they can achieve even more.You've got to put the work in though. I have been seeing Chris for about 6 weeks. I had never been to a personal trainer or attended a gym before. My close friend passed away suddenly of a heart attack aged 59. I decided I needed to look after my health and improve my fitness.Chris has helped me so much. I received a thorough assessment and he provided me with an exercise plan tailored to my abilities. I feel so much better since starting with Chris. I see him for 2 hours a week and follow my plan the rest of the week. Chris is very kind and encourages me to do my best, with his help I feel I am progressing week on week.I am due for assessment in a couple of weeks, so look forward to seeing the results.     I couldn’t believe it when I heard Chris was back. Since Chris left, I tried several different personal trainers and they offered very little in comparison to what he provided. I previously lost 4 stone with him and was able to go from very little fitness to running in the 10k baker Hughes and Balmoral.The initial consultation with Chris at the end of June was relaxed but very focused on me as an individual in regards to not only my weight but my health and wellbeing. He took the following stats -blood pressure, Peak flow, ECG, SAT’s (Oxygen Saturation), resting heart rate and the fit track scales to measure my body composition.  This was to ensure it was safe for me to exercise and the approach we were taking would not only help me to lose weight safely but to allow both Chris and I to see progression within each session.It was very obvious his knowledge has vastly been increased due to his own experiences and research.

    There are many Personal Trainers that I could have chosen in Aberdeen but after having my initial consultation, I thought Chris was more of a fitness planner and guide. He may not like that I have catoragized him. However, I think he brings more to the table than a Personal Trainer. I have been with Chris many years now and I have watched as he has developed into an expert in many areas. What I like the most is he knows what doesn’t work, which saves time and effort on both our parts. I have heard people say Chris can be too methodical but these are people focusing on short term and cant see a bigger picture. My wellbeing is better with Chris in my life, I think that is the most important aspect of his training.
